DIY Deoderant
I have used baking soda for my deodorant for about the last 5 years, it took 5-6 days to get used to it but once I did I’ve never looked back!
Sometimes I alternate between this balm & plain baking soda – but I always keep a pot of this in my bag as it’s super handy when I’m out and about! Baking soda stops odour and absorbs moisture.
Conventional antiperspirants & deodorants have ingredients that are bad for our bodies, skin and breast health - which adds to our toxic load. As well as containing aluminium & parabens which effect our hormones & can also cause disruptions to our lymphatic system…
It’s easy to make your own! Here’s a recipe I love from @4everybody.co.nz
You’ll Need
5g beeswax
20g Shea butter
20g coconut oil
25–30g tapioca flour
43-50g baking soda
10-15 drops doTERRA essential oil
Method
Melt waxes & oils in a double boiler
When fully melted mix in the powders – tapioca & baking soda (Quantity depends on if you like it softer or slightly harder, use the upper limit if you’re putting in a tube - if you’re putting in a tin the lower limit gives it a slightly more absorbent texture).
Mix in essential oils of choice (I use 5 of each - Tea tree, frankincense, lavender).
Poor it quickly into the tin before it goes hard
