Hairspray

DIY

A friend asked me if I’d ever tried making my own non-toxic hairspray, or if I knew of a clean alternative she could buy.

As a dance mum, she was looking for a cleaner option for her daughter – something that would do the job without adding unnecessary chemicals to her everyday routine.

It’s actually something I’d never made before… so, mission accepted!

And honestly, it’s so easy! After giving it a try, I was pleasantly surprised by how much it felt like a traditional hairspray in my hair. Definitely a little DIY win!

You’ll Need

1 cup water
5 tsp sugar 2 drops lavender
2 drops frankincense
2 drops geranium
2 drops peppermint

Method
1. Bring the water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

2. Allow to cool completely.

3. Pour into a spray bottle (glass is preferable).

4. Add your essential oils, secure the lid and shake well before use.

A little tip: Be mindful of where you’re spraying! Overspray can leave your floor (or even your body) feeling rather sticky!
